Once again, the AES UK section is running the student conference UP Your Output! This annual event, which has run since 2011, offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to learn, network, and develop both friendships and career opportunities. This year's conference is hosted by Southampton Solent University, and co-organized by ISVR, University of Southampton. The event runs Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March, 2017 at Southampton Solent University, UK, and is free for eligible students & graduates.

The conference will consist on a series of keynotes, workshops and also an exhibition zone and various social events. The conference is available to student members of the Audio Engineering Society, currently registered on a program of study, or recent graduates who have graduated in the past 2 years. It is particularly aimed at undergraduate students, though postgraduate students are very welcome to attend. There are also a number of places made available for students on Further Education courses who may be considering a career in Audio Engineering.

Confirmed Keynote speakers include audio, software, VR, AR and interactivity specialist, Varun Nair (Two Big Ears, Facebook); audio developer and games designer, Adam Sawkins (Projector Games); mastering engineer Barry “Bazza” Grint (Music Producers Guild); Rob France, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Dolby; electrical engineer and product designer, Charlie Slee (Big Bear Audio Ltd); Jim Simmons, Senior Product Manager at BBC R&D; Simon Short, UK Pro Audio Business Manager for Focusrite; and Kyriakos Papanagiotou, managing director of KP Acoustics.

This year's event includes a student poster competition, where students can exhibit their project work in the form of an academic poster. There are great prizes including plugin packs from sponsors Acustica, iZotope and Solid State Logic.

According to Dr Marcos Simon Galvez (ISVR, University of Southampton), event co-chair, "This will be a mixture between an audio conference and at the same time audio event for acoustics/audio students. What we want to obtain from the conference is to give future audio/acoustic engineers an insight of what the professional world offers; audio engineering, audio production, research, acoustic consultancy etc. This is a also great opportunity for companies looking to recruit talent."

The Organizing Committee is still looking for sponsors and companies interested in supporting the conference and exhibition.

Places are limited so registration is required. Registration is free for eligible students, and Tickets are issued on the basis of ‘First come, first served’. You will need an AES membership number to register.
