Nugen Audio Fully Embraces Virtual Studio Technology 3 (VST3) Standard

With the newest version of its Visualizer Audio Analysis Suite, NUGEN Audio announced that its entire family of professional audio plug-ins is now compliant with Steinberg's Virtual Studio Technology 3 (VST3) standard. Moving forward, all future releases of NUGEN Audio's plug-ins will be VST3-compatible.

With VST, Steinberg established one of the world’s leading and most widely supported standards for plug-ins and virtual instruments in 1996. With this latest major revision, VST3 marks an important milestone in audio technology with a completely rewritten code base that provides the most stable and reliable VST platform to date, as well as a range of new features.

Initially launched in 1996, the VST software interface allowed any digital audio environment that supported the new standard to integrate software recreations of hardware effect units and instruments, and therefore constituted nothing short of a revolution in digital audio.

Being an open standard, the possibilities offered by VST grew steadily over the years. With VST 3, further advancements to the technology standard were introduced in 2008. Sample-accurate automation, 64-bit processing and multiple MIDI inputs and outputs were only a few of the many features that opened up a new scope of opportunities for innovative product design.

Senior marketing manager Timo Wildenhain comments: “We are delighted to see that NUGEN Audio’s whole portfolio of professional audio tools is fully compliant with VST 3. As a part of our ever-expanding VST 3 developer base, the co-operation with NUGEN Audio has been very rewarding for both of us. NUGEN Audio is well-known for its highly innovative plug-ins and tools for audio professionals. The NUGEN Audio plug-in family is the ideal combination of leading-edge technology and rich functionality that we had in mind.”

“With VST 3, Steinberg is providing a technological and creative basis for many innovative and exciting new products for the audio industry and opening up a new world of creative possibilities for instrument and effect plug-in users,” says Simon Kerr, chief marketing officer at NUGEN Audio. “By porting our entire range of plug-ins to VST 3, we’re once again demonstrating our ongoing commitment to supporting the latest professional audio formats and standards. With VST 3, NUGEN Audio is supporting users of Steinberg products with the most seamlessly compatible and innovative audio tools on the market, as well as an assurance of ongoing VST 3 compatibility into the future.”
