PRO SoundTools Software for Advanced Audio Calibration

California-based Pro Audio Technology designs and manufactures powered loudspeakers and DSP-programmable amplifiers for high-end residential installations. Thoughtfully combining consumer and professional engineering technologies, Pro Audio Technology says its solutions feature “lively dynamics, high maximum output level, and rugged durability with the refined acoustic performance you've come to expect from contemporary home audio equipment” for “discerning music and home theater enthusiasts.”

Pro Audio Technology also understands that you cannot achieve great residential installations without correctly tuning the systems to each acoustical environment. To address the problem, the company released PRO SoundTools, a companion software suite designed to simplify even the most complicated audio calibration process, including loudspeaker programming, signal routing, and in-room system performance, all streamlined into one easy process when used in combination with the brand’s DMA and PMA Amplifier/Processors.

Through simple drop-down menus, integrators can select from brand specific compensation filters to counteract the detrimental effects of speaker placement behind viewing screens, to pre-defined filters provided to address loudspeaker placement in less than desirable positions near room boundaries.

“Proper audio calibration used to require an assortment of test equipment, measurements, and knowledge of complex acoustical equations,” says Paul Hales, Pro Audio Technology Founder. “When used with our companion loudspeakers and amplifiers, PRO SoundTools software allows integrators to achieve highly refined system performance without all the complications in a fraction of the time.”

Users with advanced acoustic knowledge can refine system performance even further with PRO SoundTool’s high and low shelf filters, level and delay adjustment, advanced parametric EQ, and high and low-pass filters with variable-Q. The interface was designed to make the application of advanced engineering both easy and intuitive without requiring knowledge of complex equations and measuring techniques.

With software based controls for bridging and easy signal routing for bi-amplification, and the selection of amplifier power ratings ranging between 100, 200, 300, 450, and 1,000 W, the combination of PRO products and PRO SoundTools provides an efficient solution for rooms of any size or shape.
