MAGIX Announces New Free Version of Music Maker Software

March 24 2017, 02:50
A popular tool for musicians for over 20 years, MAGIX's Music Maker is now available for free for the first time. This is a complete audio recording and production software, with all the tools needed to create and share music, now in a fully-functional version completely free and ready for download at magix.com. Why are they doing this? Because that way MAGIX will be to sell built-in expansion options and upgrades to an expanded user base.

Still, another free recording, editing and music-production solution is certainly good news for everyone, especially considering the advanced technologies that MAGIX now owns, following the acquisition of Sony Creative Software (SCS) products, including the popular audio editing and music production applications Sound Forge Pro and ACID Pro, in May 2016.

Having provided solutions for digital music creation on the PC platform for over 20 years, MAGIX is not only making the popular software absolutely free for everyone, but is also releasing a completely new version of Music Maker, where the modern user interface with its drag & drop workflow is complemented with a complete set of professional music creation tools. Based on a modular design and an intuitive workflow, Music Maker allows users to record external instruments and vocals, add and arrange loop-based musical elements, record and playback MIDI information, mix, produce, and then publish the finished product.

The new, free, full-featured version of Music Maker comes with 425 sounds and loops, 3 virtual instruments, and 8 effects. The software allows working with up to 8 tracks only. Paid options include the MAGIX Audio Remote app, VST3 interface for plug-ins Live Pad mode with 30 Live Sets and the Mastering package. Users can also easily add more sounds and instruments to the collection with just a few clicks. At any point, users of the Music Maker free version can upgrade to the more complete versions of Music Maker Plus Edition ($49.99 until March 29, 2017) gaining up to 99 tracks and 24 effects, or expand to the dedicated versions of Music Maker Live Edition and Music Maker Premium Edition, all with unlimited number of tracks and supporting up to 30 effects, for $99.99 and $129.99, respectively.

"Music Maker has always enabled music lovers to get creative and win audiences over by producing their own songs in authentic studio quality. Now, with the free version of Music Maker, anyone and everyone can get started in the world of music production, develop or evolve their skills and make their musical dreams a reality," says Torsten Heise, MAGIX Product Owner and Music Maker.

Professional users and studio owners might also be interested in knowing that MAGIX is now offering Sound Forge Pro 11 Advanced audio waveform editor for $249.00 (regularly $399.95) and the really amazing DAW Samplitude Pro X3 for $599.00 (regularly $998.95), until April 18, 2017. All MAGIX software is available for Windows only.
