PreSonus Introduces Next-Generation FaderPort with Advanced DAW Control Features

PreSonus is shipping a new generation of its classic FaderPort USB production controller that incorporates elements from the company’s previous-generation FaderPort 8 with an improved Session Navigator. A superior solution for anyone who mixes in the box, the new and improved FaderPort provides a 100 mm touch-sensitive, motorized fader for writing fades and automation in real-time and 24 buttons covering 40 different functions, all in a compact chassis that easily sits on any desk.

Although a keyboard and mouse are tried-and-true DAW-control devices, they’re far more effective when used in tandem with the FaderPort's precise tactile control over mix and automation functions. The controller allows users to quickly zoom in on audio files for editing, and control track levels with the touch of a finger, and an overall faster and more efficient workflow. The new PreSonus FaderPort even features a footswitch input for hands-free start/stop (the footswitch is not included).

A unique Session Navigator section provides easy access to eight mission-critical functions for maximum flexibility. Users will appreciate the large 360-degree encoder button and companion buttons to edit and mix with greater efficiency and speed. While scrolling through the timeline, users can directly use the hardware encoder to introduce new values, or work measure by measure with the arrow buttons, zooming in and out on the timeline and making the tracks larger or smaller. The controller also supports easy navigation with drop markers, while maintaining constant control of the main level.

The new FaderPort also features an optimized HUI mode for Pro Tools as well as custom MCU operation modes for Logic Pro X, Cubase, and Ableton Live guaranteeing a superior experience. No driver installation is necessary - users just need to plug the control surface into a USB port and take command of their mix.

As PreSonus explains, the FaderPort is also optimized to work with its own PreSonus Studio One DAW software, and a license of Studio One Artist is even included with each unit. The new FaderPort is now available for a U.S. street price of $199.95. www.presonus.com/products/FaderPort
