Renkus-Heinz Announces Reorganization and Key Management Appointments

June 1 2016, 09:00
Renkus-Heinz has announced a restructuring of key management positions. Following previously failed attempts to have the company in the hands of hired industry executives, company founder and chairman Harro Heinz decided to keep the business in the family and appoint Ralph Heinz as the new Chief Technical Officer and Monika Heinz Smetona as Chief Operating Officer. Other simultaneously announced appointments are intended to reinforce the company structure.

Headquartered in Foothill Ranch, Southern California, Renkus-Heinz is a leading manufacturer of digitally steerable arrays, powered & non-powered loudspeakers and fully integrated Reference Point Array systems for professional audio applications. In recent months, the company has been going through some changes with the appointment of several new engineering and production-related positions, reflecting the need to reduce product development cycles and bring new solutions to market.

In December 2015, the company announced that its company founder and chairman Harro Heinz would return to serve as President and CEO, replacing Roscoe Anthony after just 14 months as CEO. That particular announcement included a comment from Harro Heinz, stating: “Renkus-Heinz has superior assets across many key fronts and yet the brand has not fully leveraged these strengths to its own competitive advantage.” The announcement also disclosed the urgent need for the company to accelerate investments and bring new products to market, which had been under development for some time.

Supporting his efforts Senior Applications Engineer Jim Mobley has been appointed Technical Sales Manager, working with Temple on the US business while also directly managing sales to South America.

“This new management structure is a reflection of the growth of the company and the evolution of our positions within that structure,” explains COO Monika Heinz Smetona. “The expansion of our presence internationally calls for increased attention to those markets, as well as a fresh look at best practices for providing sales and technical support here in the US.”

Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Rik Kirby, left Renkus-Heinz to start his own venture, an international sales, marketing and distribution firm, Allied SMD.
