The solution, designed by +AUDIO (Plus Audio), a company founded by a group of passionate music lovers and seasoned audio industry professionals in Europe and US, was engineered in Boston. "Scandinavian designer Alexander Åhnebrink brings a modern elegance to The+Record Player within a product category most often associated with retro-style. The clean lines and Maple or Walnut finish choices of The+Record Player blend seamlessly with any living space and its intuitive, no-fuss user interface makes it easy to enjoy the music," Plus Audio describes.
A highly versatile analog and digital music system, The+Record Player offers a variety of listening options. A custom turntable by Pro-Ject offers stabilized 33/45 rpm vinyl playback, as well as Bluetooth, optical digital input, and a USB input/output to rip to a Mac or PC and playback music files. A special auto signal sensing line input and 5-Volt power supply is provided for seamless integration of Amazon Echo or Google Cast audio adaptors.
The standard version of The+Record Player features an aluminum tonearm and Ortofon OM10 cartridge. For those seeking a more premium combination, The+Record Player Carbon Edition adds a carbon fiber tonearm and upgrades the cartridge to an Ortofon 2M Red. The+Record Player also includes a powerful bi-amplified 100W speaker system, providing clear and accurate sound reproduction with balanced bass.
“The+Record Player provides the vinyl listening options today’s enthusiastic consumers demand, from streaming device integration to superb audio quality – all from a stylish and compact system that compliments any décor,” says Bob Hazelwood, Chief Engineer. “We are excited to bring this premium quality single-box solution to market, kicking it off in North America at the New York Audio Show.”
The+Record Player will begin shipping in Q1, 2018 with a retail price of $999 for the standard model, and $1199 for the limited Carbon Edition. Available in both Maple and Walnut finishes.
