Klippel Updates dB-Lab Version 212 and QC 7 Analyzer System Software

As always, the Klippel engineering team continuously introduces the results of its latest R&D efforts and customer feedback to improve its solutions. Klippel has now released their second software update for the Klippel Analyzer System with various new features for both R&D and QC applications. The update is free of charge for all users running dB-Lab 212 or QC7. It introduces a utility Documentation Module (DOC) for use in dB-Lab, TEDS integration for microphones, and updates for the QC Stand-alone Software.

The celebration was an important reminder of the importance of keeping the industry together for everyone that attended the event.

An overview of Loudsoft's latest FINE Suspension Nonlinear FEA Spider and Surround Design software. This new transducer engineering tool, specific to the development of speaker surrounds and spiders (dampers), allows for the simulation of different types of surrounds and spiders from imported DFX files or created from templates with parameters selected by the user, and then outputs the compliance curves similar to the Kms and Cms curves measured by Klippel DA2 or KA3 analyzers.

Klippel has released a new software update for the Klippel Analyzer System with various new features for both R&D and QC applications. The most important updates include an improved Time Frequency Analysis (TFA) module, the official release for the QC 3D Spectrogram Limits (3DL) optional module for Quality Control (QC) testing, while adding Impedance (IMP) for T/S parameter testing and Motor + Suspension Check (MSC) tasks, among other features, to the QC Stand-alone software. The update is free of charge for all users running dB-Lab 212 or QC7.

Directivity Measurement of In-Wall Loudspeakers

In this article, the authors share their research on new requirements for the measurement of in-wall installation speakers. The directional characteristics are an especially important factor, because the direction in which a loudspeaker emits sound highly affects the interaction with the listening room and the listening experience. The authors' research addressed the requirement using holographic directivity to address the way the directional characteristics interact with the listening room. While Voice Coil Test Bench reviews only make use of the Large Signal Identification (LSI) data from the Klippel analyzer, the reality is that there is an amazing list of 30 modules available for the KA3 that are seriously valuable for transducer and system development. As space permits, I will be covering a number of these modules in future issue of Voice Coil. The first module in this series is the Time Frequency Analysis (TFA) module. Klippel announced a minor software update for both the R&D and QC software of the Klippel Analyzer System, free of charge for current users of dB-Lab major version 212 or QC 7. The update introduces the new Multi-Tone Measurement (MTON) and Multi-Tone Distortion Task (MTD) measurements, updates to the Near-Field Scanner (NCS) software and new capabilities for the Poly2SCN converter utility, which converts scan data from Polytec systems toto Klippel Software formats. And Klippel announced details of its 2022 Virtual Lecture event.
