Eastech Expands Punktkilde Catalog with Radial Magnet Series and Releases Five New Transducers

Eastech has recently released five new drivers in its Punktkilde brand catalog. Punktkilde is Danish for "point source," which intends to highlight products designed by Danish high-end driver OEM Scan-Speak. The newly released drivers include the AUGWL0030-JN02, a 12" 8Ω woofer with a carbon pulp diaphragm; the 2" full-range AUGFL0005-JN08 compact design, and the 2.25” ultra-thin AUGWL0006-JN01, 3" AUGWL0008-JN07, and 3.5" AUGWL0009-JN04 radial magnet woofers.

In the year when Scan-Speak celebrates its 50th anniversary, it seems the Danish engineering team is keeping R&D busy and getting to roll out a series of exciting new products. audioXpress was aware that new Ellipticor drivers were on the way, and now we received the confirmation of the first announcement, a large-size woofer (38 cm - 15") with paper cone and SD AirCirc neodymium magnet system. The new Ellipticor 38WE/8582T00 woofer offers surprisingly good specs, as was to be expected!

Scan-Speak Expands Product Catalog with New Revelator Dome Tweeter and Classic Midwoofer

Scan-Speak announced two new drivers, each one strategically filling a gap in one of the brand's driver families. On the higher frequency range, Scans-Speak launched the Revelator 19 mm Dome Tweeter, D2104/712000, featuring the company's patented Symmetrical Drive (SD-2) motor, with a neodymium ring magnet system with double vent and coated textile diaphragm. The other driver is a brand new 15 cm midwoofer, the 15W/8534T00, expanding the established Classic line.

Test Bench: Eastech’s Punktkilde FSA044010-0802 1” Titanium Dome Tweeter

The transducer characterized in this Test Bench is from Eastech's Punktkilde line of home hi-fi drivers built in China and designed in Denmark by Scan-Speak engineers. The FSA044010-0802 is a recently released Punktkilde tweeter, featuring a 1” damped titanium dome diaphragm, dual magnet neodymium motor, a cast-aluminum anodized red faceplate (other colors are available), and an 8 ohm voice coil.
