The Audio Engineering Society Welcomes Bruce Olson as President

The AES welcomed Bruce Olson as President for 2023, the Society’s 75th anniversary year. Olson, whose term of service began on January 1, is an AES Fellow whose decades of active service to the Society have helped shape international audio standards and practices, while he has further contributed to the Society as a Governor and Chair, Treasurer, and committee member of his local AES section.

Audio Engineering Society Announces Results of 2022 Elections

The Audio Engineering Society has announced the incoming Officers and Governors following the 2022 Board of Directors and Board of Governors elections. The Society’s membership has elected Leslie Gaston-Bird, as President-Elect. Gaston-Bird will serve a year on the AES Board of Directors as President-Elect, in 2024 as President, in 2025 as Past-President, followed by two years as a Governor. All those newly elected will begin their terms on January 1, 2023.

Koshiro Kudo to Become New President of Asahi Kasei

Asahi Kasei announced at the end of January 2022 a change in the company's management. As of April 2022, Koshiro Kudo will assume the role of President & Representative Director. The current President Hideki Kobori will become Chairman of Asahi Kasei. Koshiro Kudo takes over the position in a robust business setting as the recently presented quarterly results show. With 40 years of corporate experience as a solid foundation, the new President will lead the company into a new century of its history, as Asahi Kasei celebrates its 100th anniversary in May 2022.

The Audio Engineering Society has announced the incoming Officers and Governors following the 2021 Board of Directors and Board of Governors elections. Bruce Olson, AES’s Standards Committee Chair for the past decade, and president in North America for AFMG (Ahnert Feistel Media Group), the established audio software development house (EASE, SysTune, FIRmaker, etc), will join the Board of Directors as President-Elect.

Harman, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced that Dinesh Paliwal will step down on April 1 after nearly 13 years with the company as President & CEO (including ten years as Chairman and CEO of the NYSE-listed Harman International). Harman’s Board of Directors has unanimously elected Michael Mauser to succeed Paliwal, as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mauser will join the company’s board of directors, effective April 1.

Audio Engineering Society Announces 2017 Election Results and Confirms Nadja Wallaszkovits as AES incoming President-Elect

The Audio Engineering Society has released the list of winning candidates from the balloting in the 2017 AES international elections. The newly elected officers will assume their roles in October, shortly after the end of the 143rd International AES Convention in New York. Entering the office of President-Elect is Nadja Wallaszkovits, who will serve first on the AES Board of Governors and Executive Committee as President-Elect, fully assuming the Presidency in October 2018 for a one-year term.

John Krivit Now Leads the Audio Engineering Society

The Audio Engineering Society welcomed John Krivit as its new president, taking over the leadership role from Andres Mayo. In his first message addressing the AES, Krivit says his goals are “to make better use of 21st century tools to strengthen and engage our community and to focus our narrative and our message so that the world knows better who we are and what we do.”
