SoundTube Releases Surface Mount Subwoofer With Versatile Mounting Options

SoundTube, an MSE Audio brand and creator of the original Pendant Speaker, announced the release of the SM1001 Surface-Mount Subwoofer, a versatile 10” subwoofer that uses a downward-firing passive radiator and is ideal for rapid installation in retail environments and restaurants. The new subwoofer design comes with surface mount and corner mount brackets, allowing the cabinet to stay detached from the floor, or even positioned from a ceiling corner.

MSE Audio Now Shipping Updated SoundTube LA880i-II and LA808i-II Line Array Speakers

MSE Audio announced an updated aluminum casing to SoundTube's LA880i-II and LA808i-II line array speakers. The first is an advanced Line Array-Point Source 3-way design that provides a very short near-field extent and robust far-field performance, while the LA808i-II is designed to increase the directivity of low frequencies in a combined system. While there are no acoustic changes, the speakers now come with aluminum cabinets for a contemporary look and cleaner aesthetic.

An industry first, SoundTube added three pendant speakers to its Dante-enabled line of installed speaker products. The IPD-RS62-EZ and IPD-RS82-EZ use SoundTube’s BroadBeam Ring high-frequency dispersion technology for clear, understandable messaging and music over a wide area, even off-axis from the speakers. The high-power IPD-HP82-EZ uses a BroadBeam HP compression driver with waveguide for use in rooms with extra high ceilings.

Dante is now integrated in over 1,000 commercially available products, and licensed to over 350 manufacturers, an increase of 75 since this time last year. Recent licensees span a broad spectrum of markets, including installed sound, live sound, broadcast, transportation and CEDIA, and include notable brands such as Beyerdynamic, Clear-Com, JBL, Lawo, Panasonic, Riedel, Sony and more.
