L-Acoustics’ Holding Company, L-Group, Acquires CAMCO

L-Group, holding company of L-Acoustics, today announced the acquisition of CAMCO, the manufacturer of high-end amplified controllers, DSP and audio network solutions for the professional audio industry. L-Acoustics traditionally worked in close partnership with German company CAMCO to complement its sound reinforcement and touring solutions. The acquisition will enable closer integration of active and networked systems.

A recognized household name in electronics for the professional sound industry, CAMCO has over twenty-five years of experience developing amplified controller technology and holds several patents in the trade. Based in Wenden, Germany, CAMCO counts 50 employees and distributes its products in 60 countries around the globe, in addition to supplying components to the industry’s leading professional sound system manufacturers.

CAMCO will maintain its full team and headquarters in Germany and will continue to manufacture its signature i-series, Vortex, D-Power and Q-Power amplified controllers while also developing OEM solutions for L-Acoustics and other manufacturers. CAMCO will keep its brand name and will become a sister company of L-Acoustics, woodworking manufacturer SIMEA and L-ISA, creator of immersive sound art solutions.
The CAMCO Q-Power series, a range of 4 different 4 channel, high output power amplifiers, features DSP controlled PFC power supply and offers up to 14,000 W of power in an extreme compact and lightweight package.
Founded in 1984 near Paris, France, by Physicist Dr. Christian Heil, L-Acoustics is a leading manufacturer of turn-key solutions for the professional sound industry. The company is best known as the inventor of modern line source arrays thanks to its published research. Dr. Heil created a strong foundation for L-Acoustics with his work on coaxial systems and Wavefront Sculpture Technology (WST), which served as the foundation for the legendary V-DOSC line array system and the subsequent ARCS Constant Curvature Array designs.
