GSMA Announces Decision to Cancel MWC 2020 Show In Barcelona

The GSMA, the promoters of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) annual show in Barcelona just announced the decision to cancel the tradeshow because of concerns with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This is a decision with major impact in multiple industries, but one that was almost predictable, given the fact that MWC is traditionally a show dominated by large Chinese exhibitors, which have been all forced to cancel their presence, due to international traveling restrictions.

MIDI Manufacturers Association Announces MIDI 2.0 Set of Specifications

MIDI 2.0, the next-generation music and arts specification that enhances virtually all aspects of 1983’s original MIDI 1.0 spec, made its worldwide debut at the 2020 Winter NAMM show. Current MIDI users wanted more nuanced expressiveness, higher resolution, and increased ease of use, but also demanded backward compatibility with the billions of existing MIDI 1.0 devices. AIMS to Unveil IPMX Standards and Specifications for AV-Over-IP at ISE 2020

At ISE 2020 in Amsterdam, the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) ProAV Working Group will introduce Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX), a set of open standards and specifications designed to enable carriage of compressed and uncompressed video, audio, and data over IP networks. IPMX addresses the ProAV industry's need for a single set of common, ubiquitous standards-based protocols that ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP.
