Polk Audio announced the availability of its Hinge Wireless headphones, featuring active Bluetooth with aptX technology. Polk’s newest on-ear headphones join the brand’s Heritage Collection, succesfully combining the iconic Heritage design with an ergonomic, lightweight headband and pivoting ear cups to provide a comfortable, great-sounding listening experience. In addition, Hinge Wireless headphones are foldable and compact, making it easy to bring and wear them anywhere, any time.

The Hinge Wireless headphones deliver good sound quality through their dynamic drivers that provide a rich, detailed listening experience, while SoundClear Technology eliminates ambient noise from phone conversations and speakerphone echo, delivering enhanced voice and speech recognition. SoundClear technology uses patented intelligent speech tracking and adaptive processing to exploit speech patterns and environmental conditions.

Self-adjusting algorithms emphasize voice quality regardless of environment and deliver consistent, high quality audio with auto microphone calibration, automatic level control and automatic volume control. Merging this technology with what Polk calls POET (Polk Optimized Electro-acoustic Tuning) headphone system design, allows a new level of depth in audio as a result of a reconfiguration of drivers designed to improve performance balance.

Bluetooth wireless technology combined with a one-touch connection allows users to easily connect via NFC for ultimate convenience, while a jog dial built into the right ear cup provides one-finger audio and phone call control that’s powered by a rechargeable battery boasting 12 hours of play time.

Pivoting pads fit securely over the ears, minimizing outside sounds to create a passive noise isolation technology. Finally, a built-in microphone lets users take calls and chat hands-free with clear digital sound quality while their smartphone stays in a pocket or bag.

The new Hinge Wireless features a 40 mm dynamic driver made of lightweight, durable PET material, housed in a vented enclosure. These drivers were developed using the brand’s Dynamic Balance design process that uses the variables of materials technology and diaphragm geometry to discover the right balance for the drivers’ performance goals.

The Hinge Wireless conforms to the shape of any head for a comfortable, secure fit. The headband uses a lightweight, yet rugged aluminum hinge that enables the headphones to fold down into a compact, easy-travel size. Plush over-ear pads minimize outside noise and create a passive noise isolation technology that allows focusing only on the sound.

Retailing for $199.95, Hinge Wireless is designed for listening to music, games and movies everywhere. The headphones are highly durable and feature a sturdy, leatherette-wrapped headband, and silver matte-finished hinges that collapse into the headphones for style and easy transport.

Included is also a single detachable 3.5 mm cable with inline control for passive mode use. The cable enables using the headphones when Bluetooth isn’t allowed, or the headphone’s battery has no charge. The Hinge Wireless are available in black, camel and blue.
