Audience, the company from San Marcos, CA, dedicated to designing and manufacturing ultimate-performance audio/video equipment, announced it has appointed Eliott Nommensen as Lead Product Designer. While Audience is recognized for its carefully designed loudspeakers and DIY drivers, capacitors and transformers, the company has more recently ventured into interconnect and power cables and power conditioners. Nommensen will be a key contributor in creating new products for Audience and exploring opportunities to expand into new product categories for the company.

Eliott Nommensen has extensive experience in the high-end audio industry. He first became involved in audio in 1979 working at Absolute Audio, one of California's premier high-end audio dealers. In 1994 he designed his first audio product, and subsequently produced the industry's first digital stylus force gauge for phono cartridges. Before joining Audience he was head of product development at Synergistic Research.

"I am extremely excited to become part of the Audience family," Nommensen says. "My design philosophy has always been one of 'less is more,' to most accurately preserve the musical content and faithfully render the artist's and recording engineer's intent and emotion."

Nommensen has spent the last 17 years designing audio cables, powerline conditioners, isolation devices, room treatment products and other audio accessories, many of which can be found in ultimate-performance audio systems and top recording studios worldwide.

John McDonald, president of Audience, noted, "Elliot's background, experience and passion for music makes him ideally suited to becoming part of the Audience team. His talents and expertise will be invaluable as our company moves forward in creating products that connect listeners more deeply to the music."

Audience was formed in November 1997 by John McDonald and the late Richard Smith, as a design and production company focused on building the best possible audio and video equipment. To pass the Audience test, each product must truly make a significant contribution to the reproduction of audio and/or video. Audience offers loudspeakers, electronics, cables, power conditioners, and high-resolution capacitors.
