Bose Professional Introduces T8S and T4S ToneMatch Stereo Mixers

Bose Professional is now shipping the latest additions to its ToneMatch audio engine series, the Bose T8S and T4S compact digital audio mixers, which are the company says are the ultimate on-stage companion for performing artists. They certainly don't look like any conventional audio mixers, but that's not the Bose way of doing things. Like their unique family of PA systems, the ToneMatch mixers are loaded with a powerful DSP engine for studio-quality EQ, dynamics and effects.

The new eight-channel T8S ToneMatch mixer and the four-channel T4S ToneMatch mixer represent the next generation of Bose Professional's ToneMatch line, combining connectivity with intuitive control, in a compact and portable, gig-ready solution. As Craig Jackson, Category Line Manager for Bose Professional, explains, “The T4S and T8S are designed to make performing easier for musicians and DJs. Modern digital mixers can often be difficult to use. We focused on making our new mixers sound great and offer seamless live control. They feature powerful audio processing and a simple user interface that allows our customers to get up and running quickly so they can focus on their music.”

The mixer's rugged enclosures have a protective, magnetically-coupled cover to protect controls and connectors. A chassis-bottom insert allows the use of standard mounting accessories to keep the mixers in reach during performances. Engineered with a powerful DSP engine and intuitive user control, the mixers allow users to play confidently on stage using its tactile controls, easy-to-read LED display and scene recall.

The eight-channel T8S ToneMatch mixer is intuitive to operate, with illuminated, stage-friendly tactile controls, an easy-to-read display and scene recall. ToneMatch processing presets with the powerful and advanced DSP engine (including studio-quality effects and Bose zEQ equalization, which redefines low, mid and high ranges for each ToneMatch preset) make it easy for musicians to take control of their music. When used with Bose L1 and F1 PA and stage systems, the T8S provides full end-to-end tonal optimization.

The four-channel T4S offers most of the same features as the T8S, but also includes dual ToneMatch links – designed to send digital audio to L1 Model 1S/II systems while receiving power on the same provided ToneMatch cable. When not used with the Bose L1 system, the T4S can also be optionally powered by an accessory ToneMatch power supply. The final difference between the mixers is the inclusion of an output meter on the T8S (not included on the T4S).

Both mixers feature studio-quality effects, including compressor, limiter, de-esser, noise gate, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay and reverb, independent ToneMatch, EQ, dynamics and effects per channel, a dedicated reverb on Aux 1 send, and a global shared reverb for use across all channels. The master output EQ helps compensate for venue acoustics. Musicians will also appreciate the built-in tap tempo delay, chromatic tuner, and recallable scenes, as well as illuminated controls that are easy to read and use, even on dimly-lit stages.

The compact digital mixers feature eight or four high-quality audio preamps with XLR-combo jacks for microphones or instruments, and switchable phantom power, two Aux inputs for additional sources, four Aux sends, balanced 1/4" TRS and XLR stereo outputs, USB-A and -B connectors for USB drive playback or PC/Mac interfacing, and an independent headphone output.

To make it convenient for musicians to experience Bose T4S/T8S mixers in their own environment with their specific gear, Bose has included the products in its 45-Day Better Music Guarantee. Exclusive to Bose direct sales channels, users can buy and try a system, and if for any reason they are not satisfied, they may return it for a refund.

The T8S and T4S are now available with U.S. MSRP’s of $899 and $599, respectively.
