RCF Announces Three New Precision Transducers for Professional Audio Applications

June 2 2017, 03:10
With an extensive range of drivers for professional audio applications, RCF confirmed that it is now shipping its latest range of products featuring advanced technologies and the precise designs that always characterize the Italian brand. The new products include the ND340 high performance neodymium compression driver with an extremely reduced size, the LF18N405 extended low frequency transducer, and LF21N401 high power handling 21" subwoofer.

The RCF loudspeaker line allows speakers manufacturers to create new designs choosing from a vast range of transducers, covering the entire audio spectrum. The Reggio Emilia company designs optimized transducers for all needs in professional audio, combining the lowest distortion and the ability to withstand high power levels over a long period of time.

Now shipping is the new ND340 Professional High Frequency Transducer, a high performance neodymium compression driver with a 1.0-inch exit throat. The ND340 diaphragm is precision formed from polyimide, and the 1.75” voice coil assembly uses a high temperature Kapton former, an edge wound copper clad aluminum wire and is assembled using advanced, specially formulated adhesives. The new high frequency unit, rated for 100 watt continuous program power handling, covering a frequency range from 1200Hz to 20kHz, features a 2-slot, optimized geometry phase plug and an extremely compact neodymium magnet assembly.

Recommended applications include compact 2-way systems, multiple-way systems, and compact arrays. Flexible and easy to crossover, it offers high efficiency combined with a very high frequency extension. It delivers optimized results in combination with RCF's HF94, HF64, H100, HF101 horns.

The LF18N405 is an extended low frequency transducer with high power handling, designed to provide powerful and accurate bass frequencies with low distortion, low power compression and very high SPL. The new LF18N405 uses a fibre loaded cone assembly along a large triple roll surround, a combination that provides remarkable strength and control. The single spider system is specifically designed with a heavy cloth ensuring excellent control during large excursions. A fully optimized T-pole design generates the minimum amount of flux modulation. The Dual-forced air venting magnetic structure system provides a very efficient voice coil ventilation minimizing power compression.

Featuring a 4-inch Inside/Outside copper voice coil, the new LF18N405 is rated at 3000 Watt continuous program power handling (1500 W AES) at 8 ohms, with a 97 dB sensitivity. The 18" woofer responds to an extended frequency from 25Hz to 1kHz, thanks in great part to the hypervented magnetic structure that allows minimum power compression and new triple roll surround and exponential cone geometry.

The LF18N405 is ideal for use in applications where very high power handling is required, as well as long excursion and light weight. Specially designed for touring, the new woofer is perfect for high-quality professional bass reflex or bandpass enclosures.

Finally, the new LF21N401 21" subwoofer was designed as a high power handling and efficient transducer to provide powerful and accurate sub-bass frequencies with low distortion and low power compression with a fast time response. The LF21N451 uses a fiber loaded cone assembly along a large triple roll surround. This combination provides remarkable strength and control. A double silicon spider system ensures excellent control during large excursions. A fully optimized T-pole design generates the minimum amount of flux modulation, and the dual-forced air venting system provides a very efficient voice coil ventilation to minimize power compression.

Featuring also a 4-inch Inside/Outside copper voice coil, the LF21N401 is rated for 3000 Watt continuous program power handling (1500 W AES) at 8 ohms, with a 98.0dB sensitivity, and responding from 25Hz to 1kHz frequencies, with a BL of 27.6 T/m to provide a faster and accurate low frequency.

The LF21N401 is ideal in applications where ultra-light weight, high BL and power handling are required. It is perfect for touring and to create powerful lows in bass reflex designs.

The new range of precisions transducers from RCF includes several new low frequency drivers that were first shown at Prolight+Sound 2017.

The complete range of new precision transducers from RCF will be displayed at at Infocomm June 14-16 Orlando, Florida (RCF booth # 6953 and demo room # W230A).
