Harman Kardon launched their Citation range of multiroom and multi-channel speakers at IFA 2018, in Berlin. All products are voice activated, featuring a Google Assistant integration and Chromecast built-in developed with StreamSDK software from StreamUnlimited. The collaboration with the Austrian wireless audio development platform specialists allowed Harman to show nine different smart products at the European consumer electronics show in a short period of time.

Following many project collaborations across the Harman International brand portfolio, StreamUnlimited now announced the successful integration of Chromecast built-in and the Google Assistant into the Harman Kardon Citation product range. The new Harman Kardon range, which includes Citation ONE, 100, 300, 500, Tower, Adapt, Soundbar, surround speakers and Subwoofer products, combines Chromecast built-in service portfolio and Google Assistant voice operation. The Harman Kardon Citation range can be used in multiroom as well as multichannel audio applications.

The Harman Kardon Citation 500, is one of the flagship models in the Citation range, all supporting Google Assistant. Available in grey or black wool fabric covers, like all models in the range, the Citation 500 intends to be a "better-sound" smart speaker with support for 24-bit/96kHz audio streaming and a heavy price tag to match.

"I am pleased with the cooperation between StreamUnlimited and Harman Kardon. This was a major project delivering nine different products in a rather short period of time. The StreamSDK has helped us to achieve a smooth implementation," said Lou Schreurs, Vice President of Connected Home at Harman International.

"We have enjoyed a close working relationship with the Harman brand portfolio for many years and this latest collaboration has been a very exciting project to be a part of," says Frits Wittgrefe, CEO at StreamUnlimited. "The drive by Harman to innovate in the audio and home theatre sectors with the Citation range has enabled our engineering team to contribute to products that truly raise the bar in terms of performance, style and technical innovation. We are delighted to continue this partnership as the leading system integrator for Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in."
