VB-Audio Updates Voicemeeter Audio Mixer Applications

November 20 2019, 00:20
One year after the Voicemeeter Potato Release, VB-Audio Software updated all the Voicemeeter series to version 1.0.7.0 for Voicemeeter Standard, 2.0.5.0 for Voicemeeter Banana and 3.0.1.0 for Voicemeeter Potato. Voicemeeter is a virtual audio mixer and a virtual audio device for Windows able to connect any audio points and any audio applications together. It does everything Windows should do at the OS level and doesn’t.

Audio on Windows 10 is an headache (and anything before it was even worse…) and Microsoft doesn’t help. VB-Audio can help sort out the configurations for different apps or audio devices and help with things like streaming applications. Voicemeeter is in fact an Audio Mixer Application endowed with Virtual Audio Device used as Virtual I/O to mix and manage any audio sources from or to any audio devices or applications. Voicemeeter Banana is the free-to-use application for Windows, and Voicemeeter Potato is the ultimate version, offering 5 Physical I/O and 3 Virtual I/O to connect more audio devices and more applications together and to provide more control on any kind of audio workflows (now from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz).

Less than a year after the release of Voicemeeter Potato, Vincent Burel announced updates to all the Voicemeeter applications. The new versions come to correct different bugs reported during the past year and to offer some new functions and features requested by users. A strip limiter on every input helps to improve the production process. There is a playback loop option for the integrated tape recorder. A multitrack recording option is now available to generate one file per recorded channel. A PRE and POST FX switch was added for the virtual ASIO insert driver (e.g. where it is connected to a VST HOST or DAW). The updates now support 192 kHz for the main audio stream, and VB-Audio also introduced the first x64 version of Voicemeeter Potato (installed in Voicemeeter folder).

The MacroButtons application, installed with Voicemeeter, also gained new functions, with 8 different color buttons and a wait(ms) instruction to create sequence of commands in the script. MacroButtons can also now manage a DMX 512 Network through a USB serial interface and send any DMX commands.

“This year 2019, we really saw the growing number of users, with several thousands of installations per day! It shows the interest in Voicemeeter, which is becoming a standard tool to manage audio in a rational way under Windows, especially in the gaming and streaming world. With Voicemeeter Potato, we think we generated interest in the music world, and Home Studio users are using it as a universal virtual audio board for small productions or just helping to manage any kind of audio devices or system. Voicemeeter is an audio hub and can provide numerous services to manage various audio points and audio formats in real time,” explains Vincent Burel.
