Work Pro Widens SoundNut Pendant Speaker Range

AV equipment manufacturer Work Pro Audio is expanding the popular SoundNut range of pendant speakers for installed sound applications. After a preview at the ISE 2019 show, the Spanish company launched four more SoundNut models to complete the range: the SN-3, SN-6, SN-10, which feature three-, six- and 10-inch drivers respectively, and the SN-8SUB, an eight-inch subwoofer for low-frequency enhancement. All use the same basic design concept as the original SN-8 introduced in 2018.

The SoundNut originally debuted at ISE 2018 as a prototype design for a new kind of pendant speaker with a variety of housings in different textures and colors, the principle being to make installed sound speakers as visually discreet as a light fitting. Following a positive response, the first in the SoundNut range made its first official appearance at InfoComm 2018: the 400W SN-8, featuring an eight-inch coaxial driver.

The new models in the SoundNut range include SoundNut the smaller 60W SN3 model (20W@100V RMS 16ohm), which is able to cover frequencies from 115Hz to 23kHz (-10dB); followed by the 250W SN6 model (8ohm) with a frequency range from 68Hz to 19kHz (-10dB); and the larger model in the series, the 500W SN10 (8ohm) which is able to reach 57Hz  all the way to 19kHz (-10dB). All models, including the existing SN8 offer 90˚ dispersion. The new SN Sub8 is a powerful 1000W solution that expands the response from 40Hz to 140Hz.

Work Pro offers variations in the color and texture of the upper part of the speaker casing for optimum visual integration with the surroundings, and the main part of the speaker housing will now also be available in black or white. All of the models in the range feature a built-in transformer, and can therefore be driven via low-impedance or high-impedance (70/100V) connections for distributed installations.

"The SN-8 was always going to be the trailblazer for the SoundNut range," explains Work Pro Managing Director Juan Jose Vila, "but the intention from the first was to expand the range to give our installation customers a variety of options if it was popular. The great success of the first SoundNut has ensured that the arrival of more models was only a matter of time."
