Telos Alliance New Axia Quasar SR AoIP Mixing Console Streamlines Surface Design

Telos Alliance, the trusted conglomerate of audio broadcast companies, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, recently introduced the Axia Quasar SR Audio-over-IP Mixing Console, a streamlined surface design that’s approachable to any user, and delivers all the power and ergonomic design of the company’s flagship Quasar console. The new mixing console replaces the well-established Axia Fusion console.

Leading audio broadcast group Telos Alliance launched Axia iQs, an AES67 Mixing Console Software that allows broadcasters and podcasters to ‘Studio Anywhere.’ Axia iQs is the first soft console controlled by a full HTML-5 interface, allowing users to control a mix from anywhere, on any device — Mac, Windows, tablet, laptop, or even a smartphone — for the ultimate remote broadcast and virtual workflows. A very significant development to make organizations even more agile and decentralized.

It's good to see radio technology evolving consistently in the audio-over-IP age and companies offering ever more affordable and complete solutions. AoIP pioneers Axia, part of the Telos group of companies, launched its new iQx AoIP console, and it's a beauty with all the right tools. It looks like a traditional console, but it’s actually a surface and mix engine rolled into one. And Axia dove deep with the AES67 interoperability standard, giving users access to every source, anywhere on the network with nearly limitless connection possibilities.

The Telos Alliance, parent company to Telos, Omnia, Axia, 25-Seven, Linear Acoustic, and Minnetonka, announced the first AES67-compliant IP driver in the world. Demonstrated at NAB 2017 (April 22–27), the Axia Livewire+ AES67 IP-Audio Driver is available now as a free download. The Axia Livewire+ AES67 IP-Audio Driver lets send and record single or multiple channels of stereo PC audio directly to and from Axia networks via Ethernet — no sound cards needed.

The new compact 2RU device from Telos offers 16 stereo codecs, configurable as 8 bi-directional pairs or 16 one-way streams, with ability to send audio to up to 8 IP destinations per encoder, perfect for multi-program distribution. The new Zephyr iPort PLUS now adds Content Delay and aptX Enhanced coding as an option.

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.
