Virscient Collaborates With Infineon to Accelerate AIROC-based Wireless Design Development

Virscient, announced a new strategic collaboration with Infineon to support customers' design-in of Infineon’s connectivity products. Under this agreement, Virscient will provide expert design and engineering services, and licensable software solutions to help innovative OEMs and platform vendors rapidly deliver products integrating Infineon's AIROC Wi-Fi + Bluetooth combo ICs – whether chip-down, or in modular form.

Semtech Corporation, a leading global supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, and Sierra Wireless, a connectivity and cellular solutions provider, confirmed the intention to combine the two companies. Semtech will acquire Sierra Wireless, aiming to bring together the ultra-low power benefits of LoRa with higher bandwidth capabilities of cellular technologies, and create a comprehensive platform for connected devices.

This ultra low power and incredibly small new device incorporates a complete hardware and software solution for embedded voice, IoT, audio and wireless connectivity. The new Libre platform will enable OEMs and ODMs to build unique voice-enabled products.

Arduino has unveiled the new Arduino MKR WAN 1300 (LoRa) and the Arduino MKR GSM 1400, two new boards that are designed to offer a practical and cost-effective solution for developers, enabling them to quickly add connectivity to their battery-powered applications. Designed to make connectivity seamless, the two latest Arduino boards deliver embedded LoRa and GSM wireless standards, enabling quick development of devices and applications.

With more than 3,600 exhibitors across the largest show floor in history with more than 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, breaking last year’s previously set record of 2.06 million net square feet, the 2015 International CES is poised to be a record-breaking show.
