Solid State Logic introduced a new compact DAW control surface that redefines the category by relying on a combination of serial communication via USB and its own 360° control software and MIDI USB driver, making it relatively protocol independent. The new SSL UF8 takes lessons learned from many years building control extensions within studio mixing consoles like the SSL Origin, or dedicated studio DAW controllers like the SSL Nucleus. The SBTVD (Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão Digital / Brazilian Digital Television System) Forum has selected MPEG-H Audio for inclusion as an additional audio system in the ISDB-Tb (Brazil's own digital terrestrial standard) specifications. Fraunhofer IIS and its technology partners EiTV and ATEME have showcased live ISDB-Tb broadcasting using MPEG-H Audio for the first time at the 2019 SET Expo trade show, taking place from August 27 to 29 in São Paulo, Brazil.

At NAB 2019, Sennheiser and Solid State Logic (SSL) have announced their cooperation within the framework of the AMBEO for VR partnership program. Solid State Logic’s S500, S300 and TCR System T broadcast mixing consoles will now feature onboard AMBEO A-B conversion for the Sennheiser AMBEO VR Mic. The AMBEO VR Microphone is an ideal tool for providing the 3D audio basis in immersive audio productions. The signals from the Ambisonics microphone can now directly be fed into SSL’s System T consoles.
