Sonnet Technologies Launches Echo Express III-D and Echo Express III-R Expansion Chassis with Thunderbolt 3

Sonnet Technologies is one of many companies showing Thunderbolt 3 solutions for the professional creation market at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas. The company launched both desktop and rackmount versions of three-slot expansion chassis now with 2750 MB/s of PCI Express bandwidth via Thunderbolt 3 interface. The new Echo Express III-D (desktop) and Echo Express III-R (rackmount) Thunderbolt-to-PCI Express (PCIe) three-slot expansion chassis will be available May 22, 2017.

Focusrite is now shipping new Dante-based networked audio interfaces including the RedNet MP8R 8-Channel Remote-Controlled Mic Pre; D16R AES Interface; HD32R HD Bridge for Pro Tools; and D64R MADI Bridge, all now with power supply and Ethernet redundancy. The British company is also promoting new RedNet turnkey DAW bundle solutions.

Audinate has released its latest firmware update for the Dante PCIe soundcard. Version 3.7.1 delivers a range of new features, including audio signal presence indicators, latency statistics monitoring and packet error detection. In addition, the Dante PCIe high performance soundcard may now be used with several popular Thunderbolt expansion chassis from Magma, Sonnet Technologies and OWC.

With increasing demands for greater data transfer speeds and more bandwidth over shared networks, the deployment of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) networking has skyrocketed. Sonnet Technologies announced its RackMac Pro rackmount solution for the new Mac Pro computer. Ideal for use in IT equipment racks and transportable rack applications, as well as in offices and classrooms, the unit supports the installation of one or two new Mac Pro computers mounted side by side in a 4U rack space and offers features for ease of operation.

Sonnet Technologies is already shipping its 4U rackmount enclosure for Apple’s latest Mac Pro cylindrical computer. The Sonnet design securely houses the latest Mac Pro while connecting three PCIe expansion cards via Thunderbolt 2, and provides a 5.25-Inch mobile rack expansion.
