Efficient Power Conversion Releases New GaN IC Family for High Performance Class-D Designs

Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) introduced the first of a new integrated circuit (IC) product family offering higher performance and smaller solution size for high power density applications including DC-DC conversion, motor drive, and Class-D audio amplifiers. EPC announced an 80 V, 12.5 A power stage integrated circuit designed for 48 V DC-DC conversion. The EPC2152 is a single-chip driver plus eGaN FET half-bridge power stage using EPC’s proprietary GaN IC technology.

Bryston has announced that they have appointed The Sound Organisation as their sales partner for the US market effective February 1st, 2019. The objective is to align the Bryston brand and its unusually broad range of high-performance audio products with a specialized sales team that can best service independent dealers and custom integrators. The Sound Organisation will replace Bryston’s network of regional independent sales reps across the US market.

The Rega Planar 2 Turntable is shipping now! The result of over two years of R&D, Rega engineers along with a skilled staff hand assembling, released the Planar 2 on the heels of the recently announced Planar 3, and anticipating the arrival of the even more affordable Planar 1. The renewed Planar 2 features a new tonearm, platter, 24V low noise motor, acrylic laminated plinth along with a newly designed central bearing, all designed to extract the maximum amount of information and detail from any vinyl collection.

The UK based Rega team of designers, directed by Rega’s original founder Roy Gandy, devoted two years of intensive development to perfect the Planar 3 turntable. This was the most intensive redesign of the iconic ‘three’ model ever, looking for new ways to extract greater performance. To compliment the Planar 3 is the new RB330 tonearm. Engineered alongside the Planar 3, the RB330 is the culmination of 35 years of tonearm design experience.
