Sonos Introduces Significantly Improved Move 2 Portable Speaker

Sonos debuted Move 2, the next generation of its original Move portable speaker, now with a dual tweeter design that delivers a more spacious stereo image, improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and new touch controls. But the improved Move 2 also features an expanded battery life for up to 24 hours, a new Wireless Charging Base (included), plus new USB-C Line in and USB-C device charging, which expands its possibilities considerably. The Move 2 is rated IP56 for dust and water resistance, making it perfect for outdoor use.

Sonos debuted Sonos Era 300 and Sonos Era 100, the company's next generation of connected, home audio speakers that also have smart features, but more importantly pave the way for a whole new chapter in sound and design innovation from the brand. The new Sonos Era 300 is a completely new design that is supposed to deliver some form of "spatial audio". The more compact Era 100 redefines the Sonos One concept with a more advanced design.

Sonos introduced Sonos Roam, an ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker built to deliver the best possible sound for its size, both at home and outdoors with adaptable features. It can be fully connected to Sonos system on Wi-Fi at home and automatically switching to Bluetooth when the user is on the go. As Sonos highlights, the Roam was designed to be effortless to set-up and control, using new smart features that make it easier to enjoy music and more from anywhere. Roam is available starting April 20 for $169.

When it comes to residential sound, one of the highlights at ISE 2019 is the launch of the new Sonos Architectural by Sonance lineup, the first architectural speakers designed for a specific amplifier. Sonos Amp will automatically recognize the architectural speakers and optimize its output. Taking things one step further, the In-Wall and In-Ceiling speakers will be the first third party speakers to be TruePlay compatible, making the fine tune adjustments required during custom installation more seamless than ever before.

Sonos announced PLAYBASE, the latest addition to its wireless home sound system and the newest speaker in their home theater lineup. Inspired by the simple insight that up to 70% of all TVs stand on furniture and are not mounted to the wall, PLAYBASE is a thin, yet powerful speaker that sits discreetly under the TV. Priced at $699 US and available in both black and white, PLAYBASE will be available globally starting on April 4, 2017.

Starting December 15, 2015, Apple and Sonos will be making Apple Music streaming available for the popular whole-home audio solution as a Public Beta. This will be an early preview of the service, and an opportunity for Sonos’ users to try listening to Apple Music on Sonos in their homes. It makes sense, since Sonos also offers its new Trueplay acoustic calibration tool using the Sonos app on any iPhone or iPad.
