New COMSOL Multiphysics Version 6.1 Reinforces Transducer Design for Audio Products

COMSOL announced the release of the latest version of its modeling and simulation software. COMSOL Multiphysics version 6.1 including expanded capabilities in Fluid and Mechanical Simulations. The Acoustics Module in version 6.1 includes several important new possibilities for electroacoustic simulations, including acoustic streaming, and lumped speaker boundary conditions for thermoviscous acoustics.

As anticipated, COMSOL unveiled its Multiphysics Version 5.6 Software Suite introducing faster and more memory lean solvers, efficient CAD assembly handling, clip planes, layout templates for building apps, and four new products: Fuel Cell & Electrolyzer Module, LiveLink for Simulink, Polymer Flow Module, and Liquid & Gas Properties Module. Important news in the Acoustics Module include a new time explicit Nonlinear Acoustics interface that uses the dG-FEM technology, a new feature to model Nonlinear Thermoviscous Acoustics, mechanical Port boundary conditions for elastic waves, and much more.

As previewed back in October 2017, COMSOL now made available the latest release of its COMSOL Multiphysics and COMSOL Server software products. Version 5.3a provides simulation specialists with cutting-edge modeling tools and increased solver performance. Featuring new methods, material models and simulations, the new software includes a hybrid boundary element-finite element (BEM-FEM) method for acoustics and acoustic-structure interaction, among many valuable new tools.

Once again, the 2017 COMSOL Conference in Boston brought together the COMSOL community. Attendees got a chance to test the latest features for COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a and COMSOL Server, scheduled to be released in Q4 2017.
