Celestion announced the launch of HornWizard 2.0, the updated and enhanced version of the desktop and mobile application which is a portal to the company’s free powerful horn design software. The updates bring enhanced functionality and now allow users to design horns for Celestion’s 1.4" and 2" exit compression drivers, including the Axi2050, and adds horn length as a primary parameter. It also introduces the possibility to refine and compare multiple up to 3 designs, as well as design horns with Circular or Elliptical mouths.

This Test Bench focuses on Eighteen Sound’s latest ND2T, a 1.4” neodymium compression driver, combined for characterization with the XT1464 elliptical-shaped horn, also from Eighteen Sound. This ultra-compact compression driver features a 2.4” diameter edge-wound voice coil wound with aluminum wire on a non-conducting Nomex former with a proprietary treatment. The ultra-compact ND1TP compression driver has a 25mm (1") throat diameter driven by a 44mm (1.75") diameter edge-wound voice coil wound with copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) on a non-conducting Nomex former with a proprietary treatment. Celestion Debuts the New CDX1-1412 Ultra-Compact 1-Inch Compression Driver

Celestion introduced the new CDX1-1412 1" exit, neodymium magnet high frequency compression driver. The unit’s ultra-compact size makes it ideal for small two-way cabinet designs and other highly portable applications, at a very attractive price point. The CDX1-1412 is the latest of Celestion’s high frequency compression drivers, and features plenty of output for a driver this size: 35W (AES standard), 70W (Continuous) power rating, and 107dB sensitivity across a 1500 to 20kHz frequency band.
