Schiit Audio Introduces Tyr Differential Monoblock Power Amplifier

After multiple subtle hints and not-so-subtle teases, Schiit Audio confirmed availability of the Tyr differential monoblock power amplifier, the top of its amplifier line. Featuring a choke-input power supply, it brings "old-skool" techniques to a modern power amp that also includes unique topologies and intelligent oversight and protection. Delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms, Tyr provides plenty of power for almost any speaker and sells for $1599 each. And as with all monoblocks, it takes two for stereo.

Schiit Audio announced the Jotunheim 2 modular, differential headphone amplifier and preamplifier. This updated model builds on the success of the original Jotunheim, now with higher power output and additional versatility. It also incorporates Schiit's unique Nexus fully discrete, differential topology and debuts Schiit's Continuity S output stage, which offers higher efficiency and improved linearity. Jotunheim 2 retains the same price as the original Jotunheim, starting at $399 with no optional module installed.

Schiit Audio just released the Asgard 3 amp and modular DAC, and the Bifrost2, the company's latest DAC that features a leap forward in USB technology. As Jason Stoddard, the founder and lead designer of Schiit Audio, explains "what do you do when it’s time to replace both of the products that started it all? I mean literally — Asgard was our first product period, Bifrost was our first digital product, and both started out being built in a garage. Well, here’s what we do: rethink everything."
