Sound Particles, the innovative 3D audio production software company, released a new app based on its original Space Controller plugin introduced in 2021, now created specifically for direct control over OSC with Nuendo and SPAT Revolution. Space Controller OSC connects a mobile phone to Nuendo or SPAT Revolution and links the physical movements of the device to the software's panning tools by simply pointing the phone to where the user wants sounds to come from. No plugin required.

According to Biamp, Neets offers a mature, comprehensive family of device controllers, control interfaces, and control software that are distinctive for their ease of use and elegant design, and made sense to expand the AV solutions portfolio of the Beaverton, Oregon-based company.

Diodes Incorporated announced the PI4IOE5V6416 16-bit I/O expander, which enables any digital device to be accessed and controlled over an I2C interface, across a range of input and output voltages from 1.8V to 5V, and compliant with the I2C-bus Fast and Standard modes. During my time at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019 show, I looked closely at how companies are dealing with the transition to IP networks, how prevalent some proprietary technologies still are in commercial installation and AV in particular (e.g., HDBaseT), and how manufacturers are introducing new products and concepts to integrate those networked systems, in particular those protocols that support AES67 audio and the latest SMPTE ST-2110 suite of standards in general.

Universal Electronics (UEI), a company specializing in universal control and sensing technologies for the smart home, announced a collaboration with Microsoft to launch a new digital assistant platform for the home built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform using AI and IoT services. The UEI’s Nevo Butler turnkey smart home hub with nevo.ai built-in digital assistant will be launched at CES 2019 and will be available as a white-label solution for other manufacturers.
