New Audio Brand Consonus Debuts Tide Speaker System at AXPONA 2024

Inspired by the possibilities to take audio fidelity to unexplored horizons, audio industry professionals Igor Levitsky and Eugene Gribov decided to combine their expertise and passion for audio to create Consonus Inc. The new Englewood, NJ-based company made its effective debut at AXPONA 2024 (April 12-14), with the premier of the Tide speaker system, a unique four-way, fully active design with outboard amplification, combining dipole MF and HF planar ribbons with an open baffle woofer and a sealed subwoofer.

Radian Audio Engineering is presenting its latest range of products for the first time at CES 2023, after an intense research and development effort. The company's extended Planar Ribbon range, now offers improved specifications for home audio, home cinema and high end applications. Together with the much improved new-generation Planar Ribbon series, Radian also introduced the largest driver in the family, the wide band LM10n.

This is effectively a smaller version of the LT6 ribbon transducer reviewed in the July 2020 issue of Voice Coil, but offering much more diverse possibilities, as Vance Dickason discovers. In this article, Vance Dickason measures the Radian Audio Engineering's LT6 Horn-Loaded Ribbon Device, part of an expanding series designed by 35-year loudspeaker engineering veteran Igor Levitsky for the Californian manufacturer. The LT6 is a pro sound driver but was designed to be a more hi-fidelity substitute for 1" compression drivers, and that is a direct result of Levitsky extensive experience in designing high-end residential, and cinema sound systems.
