Infineon Introduces First Qi2 MPP Wireless Charging Transmitter Development Solution

In response to growing consumer demand for improved wireless charging, the Wireless Power Consortium announced the release of the new Qi2 standard to redefine inductive wireless power transfer. Reflecting the enthusiastic industry response, Infineon Technologies is addressing the demand by introducing its first Qi2 Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) charging transmitter solution and reference design kit REF_WLC_TX15W_M1.

A group of stakeholders from the Rare Earth supply chain met recently for The Global Rare Earth Industry Association Conference, June 25- 27 in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting was also the first General Assembly to establish a global association to develop an integrated, de-risked and sustainable value chain for rare earth materials. The Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) was founded by 12 organisations, including Italian loudspeaker manufacturer B&C Speakers, which was already part of a European-funded project committed to the reuse of rare-earth magnets.

Is the solid part of a loudspeaker motor just a magnet or is there more to it? Simulation tools have helped to create effective and powerful magnet constructions, which make it easy to build a prototype based on calculations and experience. The next obvious step is measuring and listening to the assembled speaker. However, more conclusions can be drawn by analyzing the individual parts further.
