The legendary guitar amplification company Marshall Amplification is merging with Zound Industries, the company that created the highly successful consumer electronics products under the licensed Marshall brand. Under the terms of the deal, Zound Industries will acquire Marshall Amplification and the Marshall family will become the largest shareholder of the newly formed Marshall Group with Terry and Victoria Marshall joining the Board of Directors.

Infineon Technologies AG and GaN Systems Inc. announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement under which Infineon will acquire GaN Systems for US$830 million. GaN Systems is a global technology leader in the development of GaN-based solutions for power conversion. The company is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, and has more than 200 employees. With the acquisition Infineon aims to strengthen its GaN portfolio.

Twenty-seven percent of AV providers reported that the company they currently work for had acquired, merged with, or been acquired by another company in the previous five years, according to the Macro-Economic Trends Analysis (META) focused on market concentration trends, produced by the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA).
