Preamp Muting Circuit

Oftentimes a muting circuit for the output of a preamp is left out of DIY applications as an unnecessary or annoying part of the project. This is usually due to the lack of awareness that a simple circuit can perform such a duty. Anyone who occasionally forgets to turn the power amp on last, or switch it off first, endures the annoying thumps and noises that often occur from the preamp upon power cycling. But traditional high-voltage regulators add several extra tubes, complexity, and power losses, while good performance is not easy to obtain. Output voltage is fully adjustable with a single resistor without any compromises in performance.

New Nagra HD Preamp Previewed at High End Munich 2017

During the 2017 High End show in Munich, Audio Technology Switzerland announced it is developing its most ambitious Nagra Audio preamplifier ever. The Swiss company says the new preamplifier, built around the existing HD DAC and HD AMP will complement the existing Nagra HD range, and will be called simply the HD Preamp. The concept will be available for demonstration this summer and is scheduled for release in the fall 2017.
