First unveiled at the 2018 Winter NAMM Show, Celestion will be highlighting its new value priced range of weather-resistant, compact, low-profile drivers, the AF range, at the forthcoming Prolight+Sound 2018 show in Frankfurt. The new range was designed for use in compact line arrays, column speakers and compact single-speaker applications and complements the existing AN Line Array Driver range, which has proven extremely popular with pro audio manufacturers.

Test Bench: B&C Speakers DE990TN Compression Driver

The compression driver I examined here came from B&C Speakers and is the “little brother” to the titanium diaphragm DE1090TN compression driver featured in the August 2016 issue of Voice Coil magazine. As with the DE1090TN, the DE990TN was coupled with B&C Speakers’ ME90 80° × 60° constant directivity horn. The DE990TN has a 36 mm (1.4”) throat diameter and is driven by a titanium diaphragm with a 86 mm (3.4”) diameter voice coil wound with aluminum wire. Danish OEM amplifier module provider for pro audio applications, Pascal A/S, announced the appointment of Mads Hother Høpfner as Account Manager. The appointment is in direct response to the continuing growing rate of expansion at the Copenhagen based company. Høpfner brings six years of sales, marketing and purchase experience in the surface technology industry to his new position at Pascal. He joins Key Account Managers Aage Hejgaard and Nikolaj Pihl in Pascal's expanded account team.

Test Bench: Faital Pro HF108R Compression Driver

This month’s Test Bench samples came from a premier Italian Pro Sound OEM driver manufacturer. From Faital Pro, I received the HF108R compression driver coupled with a LTH102 60° × 50° horn. The HF108R is the latest in Faital Pro’s series of Ketone Polymer diaphragm 1” compression drivers. I reviewed the HF108 compression driver in April 2015, and included some data on the HF108R. The transducer I examined this month came from Italian Pro Sound OEM manufacturer B&C Speakers, who sent the DE1090TN, a 1.4” neodymium motor compression driver with a titanium diaphragm. The DE1090TN compression driver is coupled with B&C Speakers’ ME90 80° × 60° constant directivity horn.
