German company SPL used the Tonmeistertagung 2023 (tmt32) conference and exhibition in Düsseldorf to present new products in its professional recording series. This time, SPL introduced its next generation of channel strips, the Channel One Mk3 and the Track One Mk3. Both are updates to the SPL Studio Series, combining a complete source preamplifier and mixing channel strip with analog dynamics processing, improved and optimized for the needs of modern recording studios.

Sound Performance Lab, or SPL, the mysterious audio designer and manufacturer from Germany, has announced a new Phonitor se headphone amp, now shipping in two models, with and without an AKM DAC768xs D/A converter. The new model is an entry into the SPL Professional Fidelity Phonitor range and has the same audio signal amplification as its bigger brothers Phonitor x and Phonitor xe. The SPL line of products is distributed by Focal-Naim America in the US and Canada.

The German company apparently introduced a new version in its Phonitor range of headphone amplifiers, which already included the Phonitor x, the Phonitor e, and the Phonitor 2 (which followed the original Phonitor). The important thing is that the Phoniter xe is the Headphone Amplifier that many where hoping the company would launch and it will be presented at the High End 2019 show in Munich.

The 2018 High End show promised to be the best one ever, in part because of the most pleasant weather conditions experienced in Munich - almost summer like - turning the Bavarian region into a tourist postcard and making any outing a true pleasure and the entire experience of beer and German food even more enjoyable, particularly in the fantastic nearby Englischer Garten esplanades and restaurants.
