Steinberg Nuendo 13 Adds MPEG-H Audio Support, TonalMatch, AI-based VoiceSeparator and Much More

Steinberg released Nuendo 13, a new version of the powerful post-production software that continues to expand its features with unique and time-saving new tools for dialogue editors, mixing and recording engineers. Nuendo 13 introduces a completely integrated workflow for authoring and mixing content for the MPEG-H Audio format, Dolby Atmos improvements, extended video track enhancements, new plug-ins for vocal processing, and more than 20 additional workflow enhancements. Netflix has announced a series of brand-new features for subscribers on its Premium plan, including a surround renderer, powered by Sennheiser’s AMBEO 2-Channel Spatial Audio technology. The pitch says "Members on Netflix’s Premium plan using a stereo system will experience immersive cinematic audio on more than 700 top titles – all on their existing hardware." In reality, Netflix is basically supporting a spatialization rendering engine for content that isn't Dolby Atmos.

Swiss manufacturer Merging Technologies has signaled two major anniversaries for the company by introducing major product releases. The most respected of all digital audio workstations, Pyramix celebrates 25 years with a major software release that improves its Dolby Atmos workflow, introduces new packs and prices, and a new activation system. And because Merging Technologies is also celebrating its 30th anniversary, the company announced a major new release of Ovation, the company's orchestration solution for live shows, now offering compatibility with Flux and Dolby as Renderer Partners.

During Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019, Astro Spatial Audio (ASA), will validate its status as the professional audio industry’s sensation for true object-based audio, as it appears on the booths of not one but three major loudspeaker manufacturers. In addition, a new AAX plug-in will be previewed, offering full remote control and monitoring of the SARA II Premium Rendering Engine within Pro Tools and the Avid S6L live mixing console.
