Holophonix is now officially recognized as a ‘technical services provider’ as specified in September 2023 by the French National Commission of the ‘Label Prestataire de Service du Spectacle Vivant’. This new designation allows the Company to provide equipment rentals, technical services, and production services for immersive sound projects through a new dedicated Rental and Services department.

Amadeus Spins Off Immersive Sound Brand Holophonix Creating Eponymous Startup

Holophonix is now a separate entity from French loudspeaker manufacturer Amadeus, and has a new Director, Frédéric Biessy. Created in 2017 by Gaëtan Byk in coordination with leading French research institutions CNRS and IRCAM, Holophonix has now become its own legal entity with dedicated resources, and is seeking capital with a first round of financing to accelerate the company’s growth and product deployment. Holophonix is now a startup with impressive breakthroughs in hardware and software design and adoption throughout the world.

In its regular Sound Control column, Richard Honeycutt explored this book by Niels Werner Adelman-Larsen., first published in 2014. This review covers the second edition, published in 2021, which is available in e-book, softcover, and hard-cover. The book was referenced in previous Sound Control articles and details an interesting study of the acoustics for rock and pop concerts and the differences in the acoustical requirements for these types of music.
