Precision Devices Introduces Next Generation PD.1845-1N Sub Bass Driver

The latest development from Precision Devices International, following the seismic abilities of the 24-inch and 21-inch sub bass woofers launched earlier in June 2021, the new 18” PD.1845-1N introduces clear design refinements, resulting in an ergonomic, vented cast aluminum chassis that offers improved thermal control, also featuring an aluminum demodulation ring for ultra-low distortion. The 4.5" split winding copper clad aluminum voice coil and vented long-throw motor system leverages a voice coil gap for reduced power compression and an optimized double silicone suspension system for ultimate cone control.

British manufacturer of professional audio transducers Precision Devices announced the release of two large-sized sub bass drivers. The new PD.24603BR and PD.2155-1N were developed with the support of the latest Klippel KA3 measurement systems and further ongoing research into performance optimized magnetic assembly design, cone geometry and suspension technology. The result is defined by Precision Devices as a dynamic and powerful line-up of new flagship products.

I received a transducer for this month’s Test Bench review from a pro sound OEM company that has not previously appeared in Test Bench — Precision Devices from the UK. Precision Devices sent the PD.185N02, a new 18” high-power handling neodymium motor woofer, from its next-generation transducer range, which features four different 18” models. Intended for use as a sub bass driver or woofer in bass reflex and horn loaded systems, this driver can also be used in closed box designs.
