Rational Acoustics Announces Substantially Updated Smaart v9 Software

Rational Acoustics announced the next major release version of Smaart (System Measurement Acoustic Analysis Real-time Tool), with many important new features. Smaart v9 will introduce a fundamentally revised software 64-bit code base, which unifies all editions to a common foundation and coherent interface: Smaart Suite v9, Smaart RT (Real-Time Edition), Smaart LE (Light Edition), and Smaart SPL (SPL Edition). The widely used acoustic test & measurement software platform, will be released on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Already on the fifth major version update for Smaart v8, Rational Acoustics has now focused its attention on Impulse Response (IR) Mode with an extensive overhaul while providing multiple new feature additions and improvements across the entire program. With the release of Smaart v8.5, a free update, the company also includes a new “Advanced Delay Finder” dialog, new features and improvements to SPL and Transfer Function measurements.

Klippel has been keeping busy in the last months, continuously improving their measurement technology for loudspeakers and audio systems. With the dB-Lab 210.918 and QC 6.7 software updates, Klippel introduced new tools for testing DSP-enhanced speakers, headphones and connected audio systems, first with and hardware add-on for the SCN Scanning Vibrometer, and second with an extension for automatic testing at multiple excitation levels using the TRF module.

With the announcement of its brand new APx555 B Series two-channel audio analyzer, Audio Precision also unveiled the updated version 5.0 of its APx audio measurement software. With this release, AP has added the ability to measure the transfer function of electronic audio and electroacoustic devices using any broadband signal. Release 5.0 also enables electronic activation of software option licenses, eliminating the iButton requirement for such options with earlier versions of APx audio measurement software.
