The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the prevailing standards organization for wireless power applications worldwide, and NFC Forum, the global standards body for Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, issued a joint statement detailing the intention to work on harmonization and create a new generation of common methods for powering and charging personal electronic products. This is an important convergence of efforts between the global Qi/Qi2 wireless charging standard and the NFC Forum's plans to improve its own NFC Wireless Charging technology.
