The 146AE was designed specifically for the demands of automotive testing and can perform accurately and durably under the most extreme test conditions time and time again. This minimizes costly retesting and rescheduling, providing efficiency with consistently high quality data.
When designing the 146AE, GRAS focused on ensuring this microphone would perform in real-life conditions such as strong vibrations, being dropped, extreme temperatures and water, oil or dust (IP67 Rated). The 146AE is ideal for engine compartment measurements and transmission, exhaust and brake noise tests. It withstands rain, high humidity and oil mist, and its dust, water and high-speed particle protected with a replaceable grid, that allows users to just change the filter, not the microphone. Also, the diaphragm is repairable at low cost.
It can be used at high temperatures (125°C) - ideal for engine compartment measurements, and transmission, exhaust and brake noise tests. With a PowerOn Indicator, it provides efficient control of any measurement set-up, while online data ensures access to electronic calibration data for any system software
The 146AE provides consistent and precise data on frequency range and dynamic range as with IEC compatible 1/2” measurement microphones, 3.15Hz – 20kHz, 18dB(A) – 138dB, 50mV/Pa, and comes with a 5 year warranty.
