Measuring In-Car Communication Quality with HEAD acoustics Automated Test Suite Following ITU-T P.1150 Recommendations

To ensure a base level of functionality and quality of in-car communication (ICC) systems, the ITU-T International Standardization Sector has defined appropriate tests in Recommendation P.1150. German audio test and measurement solutions company HEAD acoustics has now implemented this recommendation in its ACQUA software with automated test sequences that can be applied for communication quality analysis, thus enabling comprehensive acoustic measurements of ICC systems and components.

MPEG-H 3D Audio Baseline Profile Now Supported by Analog Devices’ DSPs

Fraunhofer IIS announced that Analog Devices is offering certified decoder implementations supporting the new MPEG-H 3D Audio Baseline Profile on its ADSP-215xx series of audio digital signal processors (DSPs). Analog Devices's DSPs are used extensively for audio video receivers, soundbars, speakers and headphones. Adding MPEG-H 3D Audio Baseline Profile decoding capabilities to Analog Devices’ ADSP-215xx series of audio DSPs will bring immersive and personalized audio experiences to more consumers.

In the wake of innovation breakthroughs made possible by wide-bandwidth ring radiator drivers, B&C Speakers has now released the ME464 1.4-inch horn built especially to extract the full potential of the DCX family of coaxial drivers. The largest horn so far introduced by the Italian company and commercially available, the ME464 horn offers 70° x 55° nominal coverage with constant directivity and excellent loading down to 300 Hz.
