Bose Launches Sleepbuds II with Better Noise Masking and New Relaxation Content

Now with "clinically proven technology," Bose officially launched the Sleepbuds II, the next generation of its bedtime wearable earbuds to help people fall asleep faster. According to Bose, the quickly forgotten original Sleepbuds, have been replaced by a new model with "demonstrably better" noise masking and introducing new categories of content to combat the other barrier to rest: the inability to relax.

British brand KEF made a splash announcement, confirming the simultaneous introduction of two new LS50 models, updating the extremely popular speaker design. The range now includes the LS50 Meta, an improved version of the original LS50 passive design, now featuring a new Uni-Q driver that is coupled with an interesting new Metamaterial absorber in the back. The other model is an updated LS50 Wireless II, now with support for AirPlay 2, MQA and Roon.

In the wake of the acquisition of the Hillcrest Laboratories (Hillcrest Labs) business from InterDigital in mid-2019, CEVA now introduced the Hillcrest Labs MotionEngine Hear, a sensor and processor agnostic embedded software solution for hearable devices. The new solution allows SoC vendors, OEMs and ODMs to take advantage of a configurable sensor fusion platform to add intuitive user interface, gesture control, activity tracking and spatial audio capabilities to hearable devices.

While there are many affordable lavalier microphones that connect to wireless transmitters and even Bluetooth, the Hooke Lav gets a few things right. First its design is "lapel" friendly and will look nice on-camera. Secondly, the updated Bluetooth technology means it might actually work better.
