Peter Freedman Acquires Lectrosonics. Announces Røde and Mackie Manufacturing in the US

The Freedman Group, the parent company 100% owned by Peter Freedman, owner of Røde, Mackie, Aphex, SoundField, and Event Electronics, has revealed the acquisition of Lectrosonics, the globally renowned US manufacturer of professional wireless audio systems. Lectrosonics' motto is "Made in the USA by a Bunch of Fanatics" and mirrors the fact that the company manufactures all of its products in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Peter Freedman, wants to expand those operations to also manufacture Mackie products in the US.

KV2 Audio has confirmed the news of the passing of its founder and industry pioneer George Krampera Sr. A true sound reinforcement visionary, Krampera devoted the last decades of his life to the professional audio company he founded in Milevsko, Czech Republic. But his name will be also remembered for his pioneering work with RCF, from where he left to work at B&C Speakers, and later to create Fussion, a new company in partnership with Marcelo Vercelli, which was eventually bought by Mackie, which subsequently also bought RCF.

Mackie announced the third generation of its Creative Reference (CR) monitors, now adding a flexible tone control and location switch for even more flexibility in any application. The new powered studio monitors now can switch between desktop and bookshelf speaker modes, and shape the sound for more bass or added high-end sparkle with the tone control knob, depending if the monitors are being used in the studio, for casual listening, partying, or entertainment. Røde Microphones has announced the acquisition of iconic American pro audio company Mackie from Transom Capital, the Los Angeles-based private equity firm. For Peter Freedman, the founder of Røde, this acquisition represents an opportunity to expand its strategy to the complete audio production ecosystem and get hold of another (still) valuable brand. With the acquisition, Røde also gets Danny Olesh, Mackie's CTO and former founder of SM Pro Audio, based in Australia.
