Acoustic design and measurement firm Warkwyn, recently acquired by US OEM speaker manufacturer MISCO, announced that it has completed the relocation of all operations from Ontario, Canada to Minneapolis and is now fully operational. The company also announced that its role as North American sales and training agent for Klippel GmbH has been renewed.

Founded by speaker designer Tim Gladwin in Ontario Canada, Warkwyn is an R&D company that develops superior transducers and loudspeaker systems for the professional and consumer marketplaces. Warkwyn also has acted as sales and training agent for Klippel since Warkwyn Associates’ founding in 2012 and now officially continues under the new Warkwyn management. Based in Dresden, Germany, Klippel pioneered development of large-signal performance models for loudspeakers. The Klippel suite of measurement hardware and analysis software can provide the highest degree of data and insight for speaker transducers and systems under test.

Warkwyn offers a full menu of services for audio brands and other industries that rely on high performance speakers. Clients can choose to work with Warkwyn’s in-house design and engineering on new development projects or simply send existing or in-development transducers or systems to Warkwyn for Klippel analysis and other measurements to validate designs or potentially uncover underlying problems. Warkwyn can also provide full R&D and design services working independently or alongside in-house engineering resources and/or offshore vendors.

Warkwyn also confirms the appointment of industry veteran Kent Peterson as its sales & marketing manager. In his over 25-year career in the audio manufacturing, sales and acoustical consulting fields, Kent Peterson has worked with SEH Engineering, Electro-Voice, HDR Engineering, and hearing assistance specialist Williams Sound. Kent attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where he studied music, communications and acoustics. He is an expert EASE programmer and a musician and producer with three Minnesota Music Awards to his credit.

Following MISCO’s acquisition in 2015, long time Warkwyn associate, speaker designer and Klippel expert, Jason Cochrane, joined the team to head Warkwyn engineering. Working alongside Jason are accomplished speaker engineers Rich Field and Gary Church.

Both Kent Peterson and Jason Cochrane will be in the Klippel booth (#550) at the International AES Convention in New York, October 29 – November 1, 2015
