VC - Unveiled for the first time at NAMM 2019, the new Celestion Ruby is an alnico-magnet guitar speaker that’s purpose-built to create vintage tones – and at 35-watts power handling, it’s ideal for use with mid-powered amps and combos. The other new model is the G10 Creamback, a 10" addition to Celestion guitar range, hand-built in the UK using the same production methods and materials developed for the 12-inch models. The G10 Creamback uses a ceramic magnet and a 1.75-inch voice coil to deliver 45-watt power handling.

At the 2019 NAMM show, Celestion, the company responsible for the first-ever dedicated guitar speaker and well-known as the voice of rock and roll behind many of the world’s most memorable guitar performances, unveiled the new Celestion Ruby, a stunning 12-inch diameter alnico magnet guitar speaker, with a 35-watt power rating.

Built on more than 90 years of experience, know-how and passion for great sound, the Ruby has been purpose-built to create vintage tones which are authentically Celestion. Users will hear that instantly familiar Celestion alnico vibe, with a gloriously laid back attack, together with a smooth, sophisticated midrange and mellow highs; all of which blends together beautifully to provide a richly musical vintage warmth.

“The Ruby brings an instantly familiar Celestion alnico vibe to your playing,” says Celestion head of engineering, Paul Cork. “And the 35-watt rating means that it’s an ideal drop-in for medium-power output amp combos.”

Featuring an 8-hole steel frame, the Celestion Ruby delivers an output sensitivity of 100dB and is available in 8 or 16 ohms. The classic alnico speaker shape and lush, deep red color ensures Ruby looks the part, complementing the authentic Celestion tonality, and ensuring that no one could mistake this remarkable guitar speaker’s family history.

G10 Creamback
The other edition to Celestion's celebrated classic guitar speaker range, delivers rich, classic Creamback tone in a 10” format. With a ceramic magnet and 1.75-inch voice coil, the G10 Creamback offers 45-watts of power handling. The G10 Creamback is built using the same production methods and materials developed for the 12” Creambacks; and just like its bigger brothers, the G10 Creamback is hand-built in the UK. Punchy and dynamic, exactly as expected from a 10", it's tone is warm, expressive, detailed and well-balanced.

“Our range of 12” Creamback guitar speakers have been immensely popular and successful, since its introduction. Our customers have since been telling us that we need a 10-inch version – so here it is,” says Celestion Head of Marketing, Ken Weller. “The new G10 Creamback is all the things that guitar players love about the Creamback, wrapped up in a 10-inch package.”

The new G10 Creamback features an eight hole chassis as well as the signature cream colored can, which should leave no-one in any doubt of this outstanding speaker’s family history.

Both models will be presented be Celestion at the Prolight+Sound/Musikmesse 2019 shows in Hall 8.0, booth G81, after which they will be fully available.
