Outdoor and garden speakers are demanding designs and MSE Audio will be expanding its range of solutions for those challenging environments at CEDIA 2019, September 11–14.
The Kansas-based company will feature the new Rockustics SquareRoot Planter Speaker, a fully weatherproof, two-way, omnidirectional loudspeaker featuring weep holes to accommodate the watering of live plants. Within this 17-inch by 17-inch wide planter, there is a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer and a 0.75-inch mylar dome tweeter, the SquareRoot 6.5 is designed to provide a full 360-degrees of omnidirectional audio coverage.
The SquareRoot 6.5 boasts a 4-ohm impedance, 89 dB sensitivity at 2.83W/1M and a frequency response of 65 Hz to 19 kHz (-10 dB). Constructed with rotation-molded, UV-stable polyethylene, the SquareRoot 6.5 is built with quality materials to withstand rain, frost, snow and ice.
“The Rockustics SquareRoot is the ideal solution for any outdoor setting, including pools, decks and patios,” says Michael Sipe, Vice President of U.S. Sales for MSE Audio. “Providing omnidirectional sound, the SquareRoot features MSE Audio’s incredible, award-winning sound quality combined with reliable materials and versatile design.”
The Rockustics SquareRoot 6.5 features structural and acoustical similarities to the award-winning round OmniPlanters from Rockustics – just available in a new square shape. The SquareRoot 6.5 is available in Gray Granite and Terra Cotta. For use in commercial applications, the SquareRoot 6.5 can be paired with an optional 64-Watt transformer.
Rockustics Cherry Bomb
For medium to large scale installations in gardens, the new Rockustics Cherry Bomb is a premiere outdoor solution, providing full-range audio in one unit. Designed to blend into existing landscaping, the Cherry Bomb is a fully weatherproof three-way, direct-burial speaker designed to blend into outdoor landscaping without compromising audio quality.
Featuring a 10-year warranty, Cherry Bomb’s patented three-way design includes a 5” double-chamber, band-pass subwoofer, a 4” woofer and a .75” tweeter. Ideal for outdoor pool areas, patios and courtyards, residential backyards and outdoor venues, the Cherry Bomb is an 8 Ohm speaker with a frequency response of 42 Hz – 22 kHz, and a maximum program power of 100 watts.
By including the subwoofer in the same cabinet that houses the midrange and tweeter, the Cherry Bomb provides exceptional full-range sound without running into the typical phasing issues generated when installing a sub in a different location from the other speakers in a traditional system. This makes installation much faster, easier, and provides cleaner, more accurate sound once installed.
Rockustics OneSub and DubSub
The Rockustics OneSub and DubSub are designed with durable, rock enclosures and built with high-quality and innovative engineering to withstand rain, frost, snow and ice. The OneSub is a stand-alone, passive subwoofer requiring a sub amplifier with an active crossover. The DubSub performs as a sub/sat system. With the DubSub, integrators can simply wire two additional, full-range speakers to the DubSub to create a three-speaker system, which can be powered by any traditional amplifier without the need for a subwoofer amplifier or external crossover. Available in gray and sandstone, the OneSub and DubSub are designed to be kept outdoors during their entire lifespan, even in cold-weather climates.
The Rockustics OneSub, an 8” subwoofer, and the DubSub, an 8” dual-voice coil subwoofer, feature an 4-ohm impedance, 8” polypropylene subwoofer, and a frequency response of 38 to 100Hz. The OneSub and DubSub are manufactured in the USA and include a 10-year warranty.
These products will be on demonstration at CEDIA 2019 in the MSE Audio booth #3925.
