WiSA has announced that LG is adopting WiSA industry standards across its display product in 2019 (debuting at CES). As such, LG will leverage Summit Wireless technology and WiSA Certification to make their 2019 lines of OLED and flagship UHD LCD TVs ‘WiSA Ready’ and compatible with WiSA USB Transmitters as well as a range of intelligent, WiSA Certified speakers that together deliver unprecedented wireless sound for home entertainment. WiSA estimates up to 60 Million units of WiSA Ready platforms will be in the market during 2019.

LG’s 2019 WiSA Ready TVs will ensure low-latency, seamless speaker synchronization and hi-fidelity sound via a range of already available WiSA Certified intelligent speakers from global providers such as Klipsch, Bang & Olufsen, Axiim, and Enclave Audio. At CES 2019, WiSA will also promote its channel marketing program to drive global deployment of new WiSA speakers from Harman International, Klipsch, Bang & Olufsen, Axiim, Enclave Audio, EC Living, Platin, Golden Ear, and System Audio.

Summit Wireless Technologies, a founding member of WiSA, the Wireless Speaker and Audio Association, confirmed the 2019 global launch of WiSA Certified products from nine leading wireless speaker manufacturers across North America, Europe and Asia. This multi-tiered deployment, slated for the first quarter of 2019, will coincide with the worldwide roll out of WiSA Ready TVs from LG Electronics’ 2019 lineup of OLED and flagship UHD displays.

All WiSA Ready and WiSA Certified components work together seamlessly to deliver wireless, multi-channel audio capabilities and concert-quality sound that dramatically increases the enjoyment of movies and video, music, sports, gaming/esports, and more. As a result, consumers can expect a reliable and flawless experience, but unlike traditional audio systems, set up is simple and takes just minutes, even for 5.1 speaker setups.

“Intelligent TVs are the centerpiece of today’s next generation home entertainment systems and audio is essential to the overall experience,” states Tim Alessi, senior director, product marketing at LG Electronics. “With WiSA Ready displays, we recognize the tremendous benefits that consumers will enjoy in taking advantage of truly immersive, wireless sound that complements all kinds of big screen home entertainment from movies and video to games, esports, and more.”

The full range of Summit’s WiSA technology enables up to 8 channels of uncompressed 24-bit audio capable of supporting the latest audio decode formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS X for an immersive sound experience. Summit’s network performance reduces latency to a negligible 5ms that doesn’t vary with network loading, up to 20 times better than standard Bluetooth and WiFi technologies. Summit’s patent pending ADAPT algorithms for active detection, avoidance and prioritization technology more than doubles wireless network capacity, virtually eliminating interference from surrounding wireless networks to deliver a consumer experience that is best-in-class. With Summit’s WiSA technology, consumers enjoy great movies or gaming content knowing that the picture and sound will always be synchronized perfectly.

“LG is a brand synonymous with leadership, innovation and quality, and together we are championing the WiSA industry standard, which delivers wireless, immersive hi-fidelity sound capabilities with tremendous benefits to both manufacturers and consumers worldwide,” notes Brett Moyer, president and CEO of Summit Wireless Technologies. “WiSA Ready LG TVs are an integral part of our delivering next generation audio to a mass, global market with seamless compatibilities and ease of setup.”
