Neutrik Launches mediaCON USB Type-C Series Cable and Panel Connectors

Due to the increasing digitalization in the broadcast and A/V market, Neutrik has decided to launch the brand-new mediaCON USB Type-C series. Neutrik built a push/pull lockable and space-saving mediaCON chassis which can be mounted from the rear and front side as well. The mediaCON cable guarantees the performance of 20 Gb/s and is able to transport power up to 100 Watts. The overmolded housing of the cable is designed for a ruggedized strain relief and protects the housing from mechanical stress.

Corigine and M31 Technology Corporation announced that the 28nm PHY from M31, with Corigine's USB 3.1 Gen 2 PC host and device controller intellectual property (IP) is certified by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) and compliant with USB SuperSpeed+, the fastest USB speed standard. With this USB-IF certification, Corigine's IP will enable deployment of millions of devices that need the fastest USB speed.

Synopsys announced the availability of the industry's first verification IP (VIP) and UVM source code test suite to support the latest USB 3.2 specification. USB 3.2 enables new hosts and devices with USB Type-C to be designed as multi-lane solutions, allowing for up to two lanes of 5 Gbps or two lanes of 10 Gbps operation, doubling the data rate over the existing USB Type-C cables. It also supports re-timer enhancements.

The USB 3.0 Promoter Group announced the pending release of the USB 3.2 specification, an incremental update that defines multi-lane operation for new USB 3.2 hosts and devices, effectively doubling the bandwidth to extend existing USB Type-C cable performance. During the upcoming USB Developer Days 2017 event, the promoters will provide detailed technical training covering USB 3.2, fast charging advancements in USB Power Delivery, and other topics.

Recently announced by the USB 3.0 Promoter Group, the release of the USB Type-C specification, combines SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps and USB Power Delivery up to 100W, providing a flexible enough solution to fit the varied needs of consumers. Now, VESA confirms the new USB Type-C Connector also enables DisplayPort capabilities.
